Set up classrooms

Create a classroom, select a template, and review the configuration before launch.

Create a classroom

From the instructor workspace, choose Create classroom. Enter a clear class name and optional course details, then select a template or begin with the standard setup.

Choose the template

Preview the template label and description. The selection determines the initial profile types, variables, metrics, prompts, and calculation model. Templates can be customized after creation.

Configure access and billing

Choose the classroom funding and join policy before inviting students. Institution-funded roster classrooms and student-funded invite classrooms have different access behavior. See Rosters, access, and billing.

Review readiness

Before publishing the first challenge, confirm that the classroom has:

• At least one active profile type
• Required profile, challenge, decision, and outcome variables
• Active numeric metrics and a primary leaderboard metric
• Valid calculation prompts and classroom settings
• A roster or invite plan

Classroom preferences

Set scheduling defaults, timezone, release day/time, due day/time, feedback mode, missing-decision policy, and other teaching preferences. New challenges can inherit these defaults.
