SCALE user guide
Rosters, access, and billing
Invite students, import rosters, fund class passes, and manage enrollment.
Class-pass requirement
One class pass covers one student in one classroom. Instructors do not consume seats and can manage up to three active classrooms from a free workspace.
Institution-funded access
An organization can purchase seats into a shared pool. Admins can:
- Reserve an available seat for a specific email
- Import a classroom roster
- Grant a seat and enroll an existing organization member
- Revoke an unclaimed reservation
- Review total, used, reserved, and floating seats
A roster-only classroom requires the joining student to match a roster entry.
Student-funded access
A student-funded classroom uses the instructor's invitation path. Students who do not have an eligible organization seat follow the class-pass purchase process established during onboarding.
Invite and manage students
Use a classroom invitation or individual email invite. From the student list, instructors can update enrollment details, grant access, transfer a student, or remove a student.
Removing a student releases an organization-funded seat to the pool. Student-funded claims follow the reuse rules shown in the application.
Protect the join link
Share classroom invitations only with the intended cohort. If access requirements change, update the classroom policy before sending a new link.
